Join us in Sunday Worship

 

We’d love to meet you! Please join us for Sunday school classes for all ages at 8:30am followed by 30 minutes of fellowship and our worship service at 10:00am. The worship service includes singing and Bible-centered teaching.

 

For the fall and spring, our pastors and elders are leading us verse by verse through the Gospel of Mark, during our 10:00am Worship Service, examining the life and ministry of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

 

Our Elders are leading us through a new Sunday School series, titled, The Display of God's Grace in the Life of the Local Church, teaching through the Book of 1 Thessalonians.

Who We Are

Eastridge is a church with a high view of God, a high view of Scripture, and a genuine love for people! It is a place where the Bible is taught, learned, and lived for the purpose of exalting God, transforming lives, and evangelizing our community and the world, all to the glory of God!

The Compassion of Christ
Mark 8:1-13

Christ is again followed by a large hungry crowd, this time consisting of primarily gentiles. After showing compassion on the gentile Syrophoenician woman (7:24–30) and the healing of the gentile man (vv. 31–37), not Jesus shows that He is the compassionate shepherd who feeds (spiritually and physically) those who would come to Him from any nation (8:1–9). This faithful reception is not mirrored by the religious leaders in Israel who instead of receiving His teaching ask for signs to prove His identity (vv. 10–13). Jesus refuses to allow them to “put the Lord to the test” and refuses with emotive compassion. The question left to the reader is: Will I scrutinize and put the Lord to the test, or will I receive His word with humility?
